PROJECT: AnOther Magazine Autumn 2018 cover & editorial shoot

ROLE: Stylist Assistant. Provided shoot visualization, concept and historical research, and storyboarding preparation. Sourced and pre-selected all vintage pieces and coordinated details of shoot production, press loans, and post-production follow-up.

CONCEPT: This shoot highlights Dakota Johnson’s role in the 2018 remake of the 1977 film Suspiria, in which a supremely gifted American student arrives at a prestigious Berlin dance academy governed by an ancient coven of witches. In Johnson’s own words, what follows is “a sort of psycho-bending-horror-gore-drama.” Each item worn by her in this shoot - whether it be its cape-like silhouette, or made of a rare material such as feathers - references the original production’s wardrobe as well as feminist fashion throughout history, especially late 17th century witch trials. TIMELINE: Mar - May 2018

TEAM: Fashion Director: Katie Shillingford. First Assistant: Molly Shillingford. Featured: Dakota Johnson.

Photographer: Craig McDean. Stylist Assistant: Noelle Kichura
